ISSUE:

• Multiple infractions of statutes and regulations and deceptive practices

OUTCOME:

• The Registrar imposed penalties of $50,000 on Northland Dodge Chrysler Ltd. and $10,000 on Northland Motor Holdings Ltd. and advised the principals to comply with statutes or they could lose their dealer licences.
• A lengthy period of negotiation and litigation followed the imposition of these penalties, including discussions of MDC’s investigation and hearing costs. The Northland group finally paid $39,072.96.
