ISSUE:
- Failure to amend Letter of Credit (LOC) showing MDC as beneficiary
- Multiple offences related to consumer complaints
- Failure to provide bills of sale
- Declarations for prior vehicle damage
- The sale of vehicles not properly registered in the dealer's name
- Advertising violations
- Multiple cases of selling vehicles on consignment, despite not being licensed to do so
OUTCOME:
- LOC amended, paid administrative assessment of $300 plus GST
- Dealer licence suspended and a receiver put in place
- The Registrar cited 13 years of complaints and violations by this individual at 888 and two other dealerships. Mr. Manesh’s licence was terminated.
- After payment of investigation and hearing costs, and an administrative assessment of $10,000, and a promise that Mr. Manesh would not be involved, 888’s licence was reinstated.
