MOTOR DEALER and/or SALESPERSON: WES BOWIE dba WES BOWIE AUTO TRUCK RV (Dealer #30245) AND GEOFFREY CHANDLER (Salesperson #104020)
ISSUE:
- Review of salesperson licence application – working without a valid salesperson licence and criminal record concerns
- Dealer called to hearing for having salesperson selling motor vehicles directly to the public contrary to the conditions his licence
OUTCOME:
- Hearing adjourned until June 16, 2006
- Licence issued with conditions: Mr. Chandler is not licensed to sell vehicles to the retail public until he successfully completes the MDC Certification Course, and completes the Salesperson renewal process including annual fees and $75 late fee; and licence will only be valid if working for Wes Bowie under its current dealer licence.
- $1000 hearing and investigation costs to dealer and to salesperson
- Upon receipt of conditional salesperson licence, Mr. Chandler must renew his salesperson licence by June 1, 2006 and address the outstanding criminal record concerns.
