ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES - REGISTRAR OF MOTOR DEALERS 2008 COMPLIANCE DECISIONS

THE BUSINESS PRACTICES AND CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT S.B.C. 2004 c.2

COMPLAINANT:REGISTRAR

MOTOR DEALER and/or SALESPERSON: MAN FAI TO (Salesperson #104842)

ISSUE:

  • On March 15, 2007, Mr. Man Fai To was called to a hearing due to his involvement in sales activities of Lucky 8 Enterprises wherein various Motor Dealer Act and other laws were broken. The Registrar’s decision was that his application to renew his salesperson licence be denied and that he may re-apply not less than 3 years from date of hearing.
  • Mr. To requested a hearing to review the Registrar's previous decision rendered at March 15, 2007 hearing. On May 21. 2008 hearing, the Registrar's Decision was that Mr. To provides immigration application for his wife along with proof of marriage in China; and that he provide employment application form from Lucky 8 or letter from Mr. Gao; and that he take the Salesperson Licence course.
  • Continuation of hearing from May 21, 2008 was held on July 23, 2008 where Mr. To provided the Registrar with further information.

OUTCOME:

  • Salesperson licence issued with conditions placed.
