COMPLAINANT: JOHN NILSSON AND LISA NILSSON

MOTOR DEALER and/or SALESPERSON: EAGLE RIDGE PONTIAC BUICK GMC LTD. (COQUITLAM) (Dealer #8214)

ISSUE:

  • Consumers claimed deceptive act by dealer in describing vehicle options that did not exist.
  • Consumers claimed deceptive act by dealer in describing a price benefit where one did not exist.
  • Consumers claimed deceptive act by dealer in promising to take back vehicle and refunding the purchase price.

OUTCOME:

  • Consumers were aware of the non-existence of the options prior to purchasing the vehicle.
  • Consumers misapprehended the price benefit based on their own faulty research and assumptions.
  • Consumers did not rely on any promises to return the vehicle and getting a refund.
  • Claim against the dealer was dismissed.
