Some dealers enlist the services of independent companies to assist in hosting special sales and marketing events. It is important to note that all existing legislation and regulations governing the sale of vehicles in British Columbia apply to these events and to all of the individuals brought to the dealership by the marketing company to participate in the event.
Of special note are the following:
- All individuals must have completed all requirements to hold a valid VSA salesperson licence prior to submission of the necessary Employment Authorization Form (pdf) from the host dealer.
- Host dealer must submit to the VSA office not less than three weeks prior to the start of the event an Employment Authorization Form (pdf) completed in full (sections A, B, C & D), and signed by the dealer, for each person participating in the event that is not already a fully licensed representative of the dealership.
- All advertising and promotional materials must fully comply with the VSA Advertising Guidelines (pdf).
The host dealer is responsible for all individuals participating in the event as well as all activities and representations made as a part of the event.
